The tutor is designed as a stand alone training aid to familiarise you with RT procedures associated to VFR flight. The tutor is also designed to comply with the JAR/FCL theoretical knowledge exams. A wide variety of RT transmissions are illustrated in the lessons and cover virtually all the situations a student is likely to encounter in VFR flight. Using the CBT, the student can visualise themselves in all their air/ground situations and hear the corresponding ATC and pilot transmissions. Flight scenarios can be re-looped as many times as wanted. In addition you have the ability to make radio calls yourself using the computers record / playback facility. You will need an additional microphone capability to use this function. The UK supplement to this CD contains lessons on the differences in UK RT procedures from those of the ICAO. It is designed to cover Lower Airspace Radar Service (LARS), VFR Flying in military airspace, the control of aircraft wishing to penetrate danger areas and aspects of the emergency service which are particular to the UK.
